Illinois volleyball goes for its fifth straight win when the team hosts #16 Purdue at Huff Hall on Saturday night. First serve on B1G+ is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
The 2023 campaign marks the 50th season of Illinois volleyball, with the Illini holding an overall record of 1,061-620-7 (.629). Chris Tamas enters his seventh season at the helm for the Orange and Blue, boasting a 126-77 (.621) mark.

LAST TIME OUT
The Fighting Illini triumphed in a five-set win against the Indiana Hoosiers, who are receiving votes in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, on Wednesday night. The Orange and Blue tallied 55 kills and 66 digs in the match. The team added 49 assists and 10 strikes from the service line.
Three Fighting Illini players tallied double-digit kills, with Raina Terry pacing the squad with 16. Kennedy Collins added 12 kills and logged five aces along with four blocks. Cari Bohm notched a career-best 10 kills while hitting .643 in the victory.
Caroline Barnes recorded 21 digs, one behind her season-best. Vanessa Pan tallied a stunning 19 digs, the most this season and in her Illini career.

Illinois will be donning special jerseys for the match against the ranked Boilermakers. All 22 jerseys will be auctioned off, with money being donated to help the fight against breast cancer. The auction will begin as doors open on Saturday and will last throughout the match.
ILLINOIS VS. THE FIELD
Illinois has the 50-45 advantage over Purdue during the all-time series between the programs. Recently, the Boilermakers have come out on top, though, with Purdue taking the last three meetings between the squads. When playing at Huff Hall, Illinois is 28-16 all-time, and with Chris Tamas at the helm, Illinois owns a 5-5 mark.

Terry is currently ranked in the top-10 nationally in several categories. The senior outside hitter comes into the week third nationally in attacks per set (12.95) and ninth for kills per set (4.51).
