Kathmandu, Nepal, August 2, 2024 – The CAVA Women’s Nations League saw an exciting day of volleyball action, with Iran achieving their first win and India continuing unbeaten streak.
Iran triumphed over Sri Lanka in a thrilling match that ended 3-2 (25-20, 25-12, 22-25, 13-25, and 15-11). Despite a strong comeback from Sri Lanka in the third and fourth sets, they could not clinch the victory in the tie-breaker, leading to a heartbreaking loss.
In the second match of the day, India dominated the young Maldives team with a decisive 3-0 (25-6, 25-11, and 25-10). This victory kept India at the top of the table, unbeaten with six points from two straight wins.
On the third day of the pool preliminaries, India will face off against hosts Nepal at 3:00pm local time. Later, Iran will compete against the Maldives at 5:15pm.
