BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-2) fell on the road to Indiana (7-3) in a four-set battle (25-23, 14-25, 20-25, 22-25) on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Schrader notched her fifth triple-double of the season with a team-high 11 kills, 15 assists, and 13 digs. She was followed by Anna Bjork who recorded 10 kills, a .406 hitting percentage, and 4 blocks. Ella Sandt finished with 13 assists and Cailey Dockery finished with 12 digs for the Irish.

The Irish were able to claim an early 7-3 lead to start the match as a Bjork kill capped off a 4-0 run to force the Indiana timeout. Tied at 15-all, Notre Dame started to pull away with the first set at 20-18, resulting in another Hoosiers timeout. Grace Langer delivered on a big solo block to make it 24-20 and while Indiana chipped away, the Irish took set one 25-23.

After being tied at 4-4 to start, the Hoosiers picked up momentum to take a 10-7 lead and force an Irish timeout. Indiana would go on to take set two 25-14 and make it an even 1-1 heading into the third.

A Bjork and Trump block gave the Irish an 8-6 advantage, but a 6-1 run from the Hoosiers put them in front 12-9. The squads would trade points up the media timeout, but Indiana would extend their lead 20-14 before forcing an Irish timeout. Notre Dame worked to close the gap, but the Hoosiers would go on to take set four 25-20.

A Gaerte ace put the Irish in front early at 6-4 and two small runs from Notre Dame would force Indiana to use both of their timeouts with the Irish up 17-12. Despite leading 21-15, the momentum had shifted from the Irish to the Hoosiers as Indiana closed it out with a 10-1 run to win the final set of the match 25-22.

Notre Dame is back at home on Friday, Sept. 27 to host the first ACC matchup of the season against No. 2 Stanford.
