Kensinger and Williamson Finish Ninth at AVCA Championships, Fall Wraps Up

Over the weekend, junior Daniella Kensinger and sophomore Ava Williamson kept up their high level of play from last season by finishing in a tie for ninth place at the 2024 AVCA Pairs National Championship in Huntsville, Alabama.

Kensinger and Williamson, who are the first All-Americans in program history after earning second team honors in 2024, had a strong weekend to finish in the top 10. Redshirt junior Samaya Morin and junior Arden Besecker also played hard over the tournament, ending in the top 25.

Back in the Valley, the rest of the team competed at the Lopes Fall Pairs Tournament. Each day was a separate pool play and bracket, giving the squad a chance to mix up pairs and get valuable experience. It wrapped up on Sunday with a few pairs winning their brackets, including sophomores Ava Haughy and Kaydon Meyers taking the top bracket.

The Sand Devils have completed their fall slate and have just a few practices left before taking a break ahead of the 2025 season. Practices will start back up in January to prepare for competition to begin in late February.
