Ahmed Mohamed Khamis and Ahmed Mohamed Fadl (Amer) spearheaded Egypt’s solid performance in a straight-sets (25-11, 25-3, 25-12) win over France at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games men’s sitting volleyball tournament in North Paris Arena on Saturday.
Their standout efforts, with Khamis scoring 12 points and Amer adding 11, were crucial in driving Egypt to a decisive win. Egypt’s balanced performance, highlighted by 36 attacks, nine blocks, and just six turnovers, underscored their control throughout the game.
From the outset, Egypt asserted their dominance. Khamis and Amer orchestrated a fierce attack, combining precision with power to dismantle the French defence. The first set saw Egypt overpower their opponents, taking a decisive 25-11 win as France struggled to counter the relentless onslaught.
In the second set, Egypt accelerated their assault. The African team executed a nearly flawless game, racking up six aces that left France in disarray. Egypt’s relentless pressure culminated in a staggering 25-3 victory, showcasing their superior skills and strategy.
The third set was a continuation of Egypt’s dominant display. All hands were on deck on the Egyptian side as they kept the momentum going, delivering powerful spikes and impenetrable blocks that sealed the match with a 25-12 win.
Khamis and Amer’s leadership and energy were instrumental in driving Egypt’s success to clinch their second win in the tournament. Their strong presence on the court ensured their side remained in control from start to finish. France, meanwhile, struggled to find rhythm, with no player reaching double digits in scoring.
