Urmia, Iran, August 19, 2023 – Korea overcame a strong challenge from Bangladesh to pull off a stunning straight-set 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 win against Bangladesh in their first Pool F match of the 22nd Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship at Alghadir Hall on Saturday.
Korea, led by Heo Subong made a strong start, tore all the shining beams and won the first set 25-19.
Bangladesh poured everything they had in the second set, hoping for a comeback, but things started to turn sour as they went down 22-25.
Going down two straight sets, Bangladesh tried hard to get their rhythm back on track but still found Korea an impossible nut to crack to suffer another loss in the third set 19-25 and match.
Heo Subong led Korea with 15 points from 14 spikes and one ace serve, while Masud Hossain bagged 7 points all from spikes on Bangladesh’s loss.
