Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 26, 2024 – Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh VC confirmed their semifinals appearance after a 3-1 (24-26, 25-15, 25-18, 25-12) defeat of Iran’s Saipa Club at the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship on Thursday morning at Chartchai Hall.
Teams looked fairly balanced, with neither team gaining a sizeable, comfortable lead. Kuanysh VC relied on Sana Anarkulova and Yulia Dymar on attack, who posted match-high scores 24 points and 17 points respectively.
Saipa Club had Aytak Salamat and Soudabeh Bagherpour delivering the points.
By the closing plays, the Iran club delivered 2 key blocks to reach set point, but their opponents quickly got back into the game with a deflection. Soon, the Kazakh club committed an attack error, which cost them the first set.
Kuanysh VC eased into their tempo in the second set, as they established a good advantage. They also firmed up their defense, seeing how prolific their opponents could potentially be. The Kazakh club completed 5 stuff blocks to send out a strong message as they started to retaliate to tie the match.
The 2022 champions looked even more poised, carrying their momentum into the succeeding sets. It seemed like that they have absolutely settled into their system, as their usual hitters got even more prolific and effective from the field.
The Kazakh club tallied a total of 55 attacks and 15 blocks to lead in these scoring fields.
They also scored off 5 service aces in Thursday morning’s victory, their fourth straight in the 2024 edition.
