“I am excited to add Molly to the staff,” said Hambly. “I have known Molly and have followed her career since she was a prep player, and have been impressed with who she has become in adulthood. She has jumped into coaching with both feet and is serious about being the best coach she can be in the future.”
Lambillotte replaces Jane Seslar, who served as an assistant for the 2023 season. She comes to The Farm after serving one season as an assistant coach at UNC Pembroke.
“I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and cannot give enough thanks to Kevin for trusting me in this position,” said Lambillotte. “Coaching college volleyball at the highest level has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn’t be more excited to pursue that at Stanford University.”
At UNC Pembroke, Lambillotte helped guide the team to the Conference Carolinas Tournament final in 2023. Prior to working with the Braves, she spent a season as a volunteer assistant coach at Central Florida.
“Molly has a great sense of what collegiate coaching is and, most importantly, has developed some great principles already in a short coaching career,” added Hambly. “She will add a great deal to the staff immediately, and I look forward to seeing how she progresses and develops in the profession. I believe we landed a star in coaching at the beginning of her career.”
As a player at Wingate, Lambillotte helped lead the Bulldogs to five regular season championships and three conference tournament titles. Wingate also won a pair of regional championships during her time with the program.
An All-Region and All-America selection, Lambillotte played in 138 matches for Wingate. She was named a captain for the Bulldogs in 2019 and held that title through her senior season. The Geneva, Illinois, native finished her career with 1,315 digs and 889 kills.
“I can’t wait to be surrounded by great student-athletes and coaches but more importantly, great people every day,” said Lambillotte. “I am excited to start working towards another national championship for Stanford women’s volleyball!”
Lambillotte earned her bachelor’s degree in sports management from Wingate in 2022, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in the Sport Management Coaching and Leadership track.
