Bangkok, Thailand, November 6, 2023 – Following the recent Technical Meeting of the Laos National Volleyball Federation and dissemination of rules and regulations of the men’s and women’s Indoor Volleyball Championships for 2023 season, the 2023 Beerlao Volleyball Championships got off to a flying start on the last weekend at the Indoor Sport Club of Army in Xaysettha District, Vientiane, Laos.
The Technical Meeting of the Indoor Volleyball Championships of 2023 to pave the way for Lao volleyball teams to advance to Lao League level stage was held on October 23 at the Office of the Lao National Olympic Committee, with LNVF President Mr Chansamone Phongchantha presiding.
Also attending the meeting were LNVF Vice President Mr Pixay Suvansai as well as Management Committee, advisors, trainers of the volleyball clubs.
The meeting approved the rules of the competition aside from setting the players’ conditions, checking each team’s documents and conducting drawing of lots. Furthermore, the meeting also agreed to postpone the competition initially scheduled to be held on October 28, but because of the National Traditional Boat Festival celebrating the Pavlana Festival in Vientiane, the Laos’ topflight competition has been rescheduled from November 4 to December 24.
The dissemination of rules and regulations of the Men’s and Women’s Indoor Volleyball Championships for 2023 season was also made on October 25, with LNVF Secretary General Mr Sichan Chittapanya chairing the meeting, joined by referees, court officials and related responsible committees.
Regarding the 2023 Beerlao Volleyball Championships, which are being held every weekend from 9am onwards, eight teams took part in the men’s competition comprising Master 7 VC, Grow Up VC, VC Army Club, Inthasone VC, Vientiane VC, W. S. Ministry of Defense VC, Lao Skyway VC and Intention VC, with teams featuring VC Army Club, SEC VC, Inthasone VC, Vientiane VC, Master 7 VC and VC Army Politics strutting their stuff in the women’s event.
Meanwhile, with teams completing their first two-day campaigns in the 2023 Beerlao Volleyball Championships on November 4 and 5, VC Army Club, Vientiane VC and VC Army Politics had 3 points apiece with their first victories against their respective opponents in the women’s event.
