Last Road Trip This Weekend In The Bay Area


TEMPE, Ariz. – It’s the final road trip for Sun Devil Volleyball this weekend as the team heads to the Bay Area to face No. 8 Stanford on Thursday at 8 p.m. MST before taking on Cal on Sunday at 1 p.m. MST.

Both matches this weekend will be on the Pac-12 Networks. Thursday’s match between the Sun Devils and Cardinal will start at 8 p.m. MST and Sunday’s match at Cal begins at 1 p.m. MST. Sun Devil Outlook

Arizona State (11-17, 5-11 Pac-12)

  • Over the weekend, the Sun Devils dropped two ranked matchups, first falling in straight sets to No. 25 Washington State before coming up short in five sets to No. 20 Washington.
  • Senior outside hitter Iman Isanovic had a strong weekend, earning double-digit kills in both matches. Against UW, she matched her season high of 21 kills. She also moved into ninth place in the record book for career kills, now up to 1,337. She is 23 away from Jami Coughlin (1998-01) in eighth place.
  • The Sun Devil block was a force in the five-set match against the Huskies. The team had 15 blocks, a new season high. Half of the last 10 matches have seen double-digit digs from ASU. Junior middle blocker leads the team in total blocks this season with 89.
  • The dynamic duo of Isanovic and pin hitter Marta Levinska lead the team in total kills 366 and 324, respectively. Levinska has had eight matches in a row with double-digit kills, the longest streak of her career. Among pin hitters, Levinska has the highest clip with .261.
  • On defense, the digs leader is senior libero Annika Larson-Nummer with 259. She surpassed 1,000 career digs over the weekend, the 21st Sun Devil to do so. Second on the team in digs is sophomore outside hitter Geli Cyr with 211. Cyr put on the libero jersey for the first time in her career against UW for the fourth and fifth sets.
  • Senior setter Shannon Shields leads the team in assists with 504. She has been the primary setter for Pac-12 play. Last weekend, she earned her third double-double of the year against the Huskies. Junior Ella Snyder has 412 assists this season.
