Lauren Collier hired as Director, Strength & Conditioning Olympic Sports


BLACKSBURG – Assistant AD, S/C Olympic Sports Ron Dickson announced the addition of Lauren Collier to the Hokies’ strength and conditioning staff Tuesday afternoon. Collier will serve as the strength and conditioning coach for the Virginia Tech volleyball and softball programs.
 
“We are excited to welcome Coach Collier to our staff,” Dickson said. “Lauren is highly motivated, passionate, and brings a commitment to excellence to our department.”
 

Most recently at Mississippi State, Collier has experience training and developing athletes who have competed in a variety of sports including volleyball, softball, women’s basketball, and track & field.
 

While at State, Lauren worked with the softball and track & field programs. She developed and implemented year-round training regimens utilizing a holistic approach centered around each individual student-athlete’s athletic performance needs. She worked with current Virginia Tech softball assistant coach Josh Johnson at Mississippi State.
 
Collier has also worked at the University of South Alabama, East Carolina and the University of Florida.
 

Collier, MS, CSCS, USAW owns a degree in science in health and exercise sciences from Furman University as well as a Master’s of science in applied physiology & kinesiology from the University of Florida.
