Lewis Women’s Volleyball Falls to Missouri-St. Louis in Regular Season Finale Saturday

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lewis University women’s volleyball was unable to come with the victory Saturday (Nov. 5) as the Flyers dropped their final regular season match 3-1 to Missouri – St. Louis. The Tritons won 28-26, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19.

SET BREAKDOWN

FIRST SET: UMSL 28, Lewis 26

·      UMSL jumped out to an early 6-3 advantage in the first set before Lewis scored five straight points to take a 8-6 lead.

·      Lewis would be the first to score 10 in the set after a kill and a block by Megan Schlechte (Strasburg, Ill./Stewardson-Strasburg).

·      The Flyers had a 15-11 lead before UMSL scored eight of the next 10 to take a 19-17 advantage.

·      Later in the set, Van Loo had two kills and Stefanski had one kill to tie the score at 23.

·      Both teams went back-and-fourth the next couple of points before UMSL scored three straight to win the opening set 28-26.

SECOND SET: Lewis 25, UMSL 23
