CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – At Gosser Gymnasium, the Lindsey Wilson volleyball fell in a three-set decision to Campbellsville University, effectively ending the Blue Raiders’ season-long win streak after three matches.

Despite being narrowly outhit by the Tigers, 0.200 to 0.171, the locals were ultimately bested by no more than four points in each of the three sets on Thursday evening.

The hosts prevailed 25-21, 25-21, and 25-22 to seal the deal, finishing with seven service aces to the Blue Raiders’ four. Campbellsville also garnered a significant boost from its defense, as they closed with 62 total digs and eight blocks.

Lindsey Wilson muscled 37 kills against the Tigers’ net presence. Savanah Pippin paced the Blue Raiders in that regard with 12 successful attacks, followed by nine apiece from Alix Stoermer and Alexis Smith.

Senior Camryn Rich recorded her 51st career double-double on the night behind a team-high 29 assists and 10 digs, while Embry Burgess and Natalie Ackermann combined for 24 digs to round out the Blue Raiders’ backline.

The locals now turn their attention to back-to-back home contests, beginning on October 19 against Cumberland University at 7 p.m. CST.
