COLUMBIA, Ky. – At the Biggers Sports Center, the Lindsey Wilson volleyball team tied a season-low with three attack errors en route to a dominating three-set decision over the University of Pikeville.
The Blue Raiders (8-9, 4-3 MSC) did not quite stack up to the 78 kills produced earlier in the week against the University of the Cumberlands, but a noteworthy 0.596 hitting percentage was more than enough to dismantle the Bears 25-8, 25-9 and 25-12.
The plus-0.500 attack mark is the local’s second such effort of the season, and first against a conference opponent since striking for 0.506 back on September 14, 2017, also versus Pikeville.
Alix Stoermer paced a balanced Blue Raider offense with 10 kills, followed by Madison Bidwell‘s nine and seven from Alexis Smith. Defensively, Embry Burgess contributed a match-high eight digs.

In the middle set, the home side recovered quickly from a slow start to take a 5-4 lead, then subsequently followed with three-straight kills from Smith to extend the advantage to 8-4. Similar to the previous frame, the locals managed to balloon their lead up into double figures, and score the final seven points to take a commanding two sets to none lead in the match.
Despite allowing a match-high 12 points from the Bears in the final set, the Blue Raiders still…
