COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Terps won their second match-up of the day at the Maryland Invite, besting Navy 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-12).
Maryland coasted in the first set thanks to 12 kills and 10 Navy attack errors.
The second set was much tighter, with the Terps holding a slim 23-19 lead late. A clutch kill by Sam Csire and a Navy service error propelled Maryland to a 25-20 set win.
The Terps jumped to a 14-6 lead in the final set and Navy was never able to threaten.
Clean Sweep
- With the 3-0 win, Maryland won all six sets of the day at the Maryland Invite.
- The Terps have not started the season winning six consecutive sets since 2018 when they did so against Wake Forest and North Carolina-Greensboro.
Fresh Faces Continuing To Impress
- After impressive Maryland debuts, Pitt transfer Anastasia Russ and freshman Laila Ivey didn’t slow down in their second game, combining for 13 kills and eight blocks.
