Match Preview: #20 Tennessee Heads to Oklahoma

The 20th-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols hit the road to take on Oklahoma after a three-match homestand. The two teams face off Sunday at 3 p.m. ET in McCasland Field House.

Welcoming them into the conference, Tennessee (8-3, 1-0 SEC) and the Sooners are squaring up for just the fourth time ever and the first time since 2010. The Big Orange holds a 2-1 record all time in the series, winning the most recent matchup 3-0. Sunday’s contest will be streamed on SEC Network+.

Tennessee hosted Alabama for their SEC opener on Wednesday and ended the five-set rally with a win. Graduate student outside hitter Nina Cajic, who earned SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, dominated offensively with 31 kills. UT ended the night with 62 kills, 57 assists and 10 aces, while recording 73 digs and 11 blocks for a well-rounded night.

Oklahoma enters the match with a 6-3 overall record but on the heels of a five-set loss against Florida on Thursday night.

This match marks the beginning of a four-contest road swing for the Lady Vols, who travel to Mississippi to take on the Rebels and Bulldogs next weekend. After that, the Big Orange heads to Missouri to face the Tigers on Sunday, Oct. 13.
