MATCH PREVIEW: at Missouri - Texas A&M Athletics

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Texas A&M volleyball team returns to the road Friday to face the Missouri Tigers at the Hearnes Center with first serve set for 6 p.m.

The Aggies spilt a pair of matches to open play in November last time out. Starting the week on Friday versus Alabama, A&M secured its 10th sweep of the season in a dominant showing, outscoring the Crimson Tide 75-53 over the three sets. In Sunday’s match, the Maroon & White went the distance with No. 24 Auburn. The squads traded the first four sets, as they headed to a decider. Despite a strong effort from a shorthanded Aggie team, Auburn closed out the fifth set and won the match, 3-2.

Missouri enters the Friday’s game on a two match winning-streak, most recently downing Georgia at home in a five-set battle Sunday evening. The Tigers hold an identical record to A&M in league play (7-6), as the programs are tied for fifth in the SEC.

The teams have a rich history as they have met 55 times, with the Maroon & White boasting a strong lead in the all-time series, 34-21. Since joining the SEC, the programs are locked 10-10 after Missouri’s win in the teams meeting earlier this season.

Morgan Perkins logged eight kills in the Aggies match versus Auburn, this brought her season total to 100. A&M now has five players who have reached the triple digit kill mark this season, as Logan Lednicky (282), Caroline Meuth (250), Bianna Muoneke (233) and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla (116) also surpassed 100 on the year.

Margot Manning continues to be a threat from the service line, as the freshman leads the conference in aces per set (0.48), while also being tied for first in total aces (22).

Ava Underwood set back-to-back season highs in digs, as she recorded 17 versus Alabama and followed that up with 19 against Auburn.
