ELMIRA, N.Y. – FrogJump Volleyball announced its inaugural All-Freshmen Team on Tuesday with Elmira College men’s volleyball outside hitter Alberto Mauricio ’25 being one of 12 student-athletes that were honored across Division III men’s volleyball.
The FrogJump All-Freshmen Team honors the top NCAA Division III men’s volleyball freshmen players from the regular season. This is the first year FrogJump has presented the honor.
The honorees were selected/voted on by a committee of FrogJump personnel based on their performances throughout the regular season. A player making the All-Freshmen Team had to be among the top 12 vote-getters of all nominees.
Mauricio, a native of San Pedro De Macoris, Dominican Republic, adds another laurel following a standout first season with the Purple & Gold after being named The Empire 8 Athletic Conference Co-Rookie of the Year.
Mauricio, who earned Empire 8 Rookie of the Week honors seven times throughout the season, led the Soaring Eagles in kills (267), digs (145), and service aces (39).
Twelve players made the team in its inaugural year. Aurora was the only school to have multiple players listed on the All-Freshmen team. Loras, Stevens, Stevenson, Alvernia, Elmira, Messiah, Marian, Lasell, and Concordia University of Wisconsin each had one honoree.
FrogJump launched in 2020 and has quickly become the industry leader in DIII Men’s Volleyball Coverage; started by former DIII athletes for DIII Athletes. FrogJump presents many DIII Men’s Volleyball awards, including the annual DIII Preseason All-American Team and the DIII Men’s Volleyball Team of the Week award.
