Men’s Volleyball Cruise to Three Set Victory over Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa.- The Immaculata men’s volleyball team (8-10) was back in action on Monday night when they defeated Bryn Athyn College 3-0. 

In the first set, Immaculata jumped out to an early 12-3 lead by the serves of Joe Martell, John Bohrer, and Brandon Fox. Immaculata went on to take the first set 25-15, on Evan Timlin’s service ace. 

The second set saw Immaculata take an early lead again, as Jack Debes served three consecutive points to put the Macs up 12-5. Immaculata would go up 22-13, but Bryn Athyn refused to go quietly in the set. Bryn Athyn would use a seven-point run to close the score to 22-20. Immaculata would hold on to take the second set 25-23.  

In the third set Immaculata would use a three-point run, and a five-point run to open a 14-7 lead. The Macs would not look back taking the third set 25-16 and closing out the three-set win.  

Immaculata was led by John Bohrer with 10 kills, Garrett Pepper with eight kills, and Jack Debes with four kills. Joe Martell added 22 assists, giving him 976 career assists. Jack Debes had five service aces, and Joe Martell had two service aces. Defensively the Macs were led by John Bohrer and Joe Martell with six digs each, and Garrett Pepper had four digs.  

The men’s volleyball team will be back in action on Tuesday, March 14 when they host Neumann University at Alumnae Hall at 7:00 PM.
