Men’s Volleyball Drops Match vs. Rutgers-Newark

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata men’s volleyball team dropped its penultimate home contest of the season on Tuesday, dropping their match to Rutgers-Newark 3-0.
 
The Macs quickly found themselves down 10-2 to kick off set one. While the Macs would attempt to rally back, they were unable to keep up with the Scarlet Raiders as they claimed set one 25-13. In set two, the Macs managed an early 4-2 lead before the Scarlet-Raiders began to take over, quickly falling into a 14-6 deficit on they way to a 25-16 result in game two.
 
Down 6-4 in set three, the Macs saw the Scarlet Raiders go on a seven-point run, securing the lead in what would be a 25-15 verdict in set three, securing the sweep for the Scarlet Raiders.
 
Garrett Pepper led the Macs on the day with five kills and six digs overall. Joe Martell, meanwhile, earned 16 assists on the match.
 
The Mighty Macs are on the road on Saturday as they travel to Juniata for a tri-match.
