Men’s Volleyball Falls to Wilkes

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University men’s volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Wilkes University on Thursday evening. The set scores were 25-22, 18-25, 23-25 and 12-25.

Garrett Pepper led the Macs with 13 kills, and two service aces. John Bohrer had six kills and six digs and added one service ace. Joe Martell distributed 29 assists in the match. Brandon Fox added four blocks, and Matthew Pfister contributed eight digs for Immaculata.

In the first set Immaculata opened a 10-5 lead as Brandon Fox served three straight points for the Mighty Macs. Immaculata would go on to take the first set 25-22 on Jack Debes block.

In the second set the Macs took an early lead when Jack Debes served three straight points including a service ace. Wilkes would battle back using an 11-4 run to take a 15-11 lead. Wilkes would go on to take the second set 25-18.

The third set was competitive as there were seven lead changes and the score was tied seven times. With Wilkes leading 22-18, the Macs refused to go quietly. Immaculata railed to tie the score at 23-23 on consecutive blocks by Brandon Fox. Wilkes would counter scoring the next two points to take the set 25-23. The Colonels would close out the match taking the fourth set 25-12.

The Immaculata men’s volleyball team (2-4) will be back in action on Tuesday, February 7th when they visit the University of Valley Forge at 7:00 PM.
