Men's Volleyball Honors Seniors Prior to Win Over Bryn Athyn


IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men’s volleyball team honored its senior class ahead of their final regular season matchup against the Bryn Athyn College on Monday night. The Macs defeated Bryn Athyn 3-0.

Prior to the start of the season, the Mighty Macs honored seniors, Garrett Pepper, John Bohrer, Brandon McClernan, and Steven Dao for their outstanding college careers at Immaculata. Following the seniors, the Mighty Macs honored junior setter Joe Martell for achieving 1,000 career assists during the match vs. Neumann on March 14th.

In the first set, the Macs took an 8-6 lead on a kill by Garrett Pepper. Pepper would then serve 12 consecutive points to put Immaculata up 21-6. The Macs would go on to take the first set 25-9.

In set two, Bryn Athyn took an early 2-0 lead. Immaculata would use a three-point run to take 4-3 lead on a kill by John Bohrer. With Immaculata leading 13-11, Jack Debes served four straight points to extend the Macs lead to 17-11. Immaculata would go on to take the second set 25-15, ending the set on a kill by Jack Debes.

Immaculata would go on to close out the sweep, winning set three 25-13. The third set saw Jack Debes serve five straight points, and Joe Martell served three straight points. Immaculata closed out the win on a service ace by John Bohrer.

Immaculata was led offensively by John Bohrer with eight kills, Steven Dao with seven kills, and Jack Debes with six kills. Garrett Pepper had three service aces, John Bohrer had two service aces, and Joe Martell had two service aces. Garrett Pepper contributed 14 assists, and Joe Martell added 13 assists. On the defensive side, Brandon Fox had three blocks, and Garrett Pepper and Steven Dao each had one block. John Bohrer had eight digs, Matthew Pfister had six digs, and Garrett Pepper had five digs.

The Immaculata men’s volleyball team has now concluded their 2023 season with a program best 10-10 record.
