Morgahn Fingall Named SEC Player of the Week & Offensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following a career weekend, senior Morgahn Fingall has been named the SEC’s Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week.

In Tennessee’s three victories, Fingall averaged 5.00 kills per set, 5.75 points per set and hit .355 over 12 sets. The Fairfax, Virginia, native also surpassed 1,000 career kills – becoming the 23rd player in program history to reach the milestone. She is just the 10th to do so in the rally-scoring era.

She started with 17 kills in UT’s thrilling five-set victory at Ole Miss on Wednesday and continued her hot streak with 16 kills – zero errors – and a .516 hit percentage in match one against LSU on Saturday. It was in that contest she eclipsed 1,000 kills.

She followed that performance with a career-best 27-kill outing against the Tigers on Sunday to help Tennessee sweep the series and go 3-0 on the week.

It is the second time this season that Fingall has garnered SEC Player and Offensive Player of the Week honors. It is also the third offensive player of the week honor of her career.

Tennessee is back home on Friday, Nov. 11 as it welcomes Georgia to Thompson-Boling Arena. First serve against the Bulldogs is set for 6:30 p.m. ET.
