NAKHON RATCHASIMA QMINC CAPTURE STRAIGHT-SETS WIN OVER KWAI TSING

NAKHON RATCHASIMA QMINC CAPTURE STRAIGHT-SETS WIN OVER KWAI TSING

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 22, 2024 – Hosts Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC of Thailand gifted the crowd in Chartchai Hall with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-12) win against Kwai Tsing of Hong Kong, China in Pool A of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship.

In Sunday evening’s main event, Phontham Papatchaya, Sittisad Patcharaporn and Paowana Nokyoong jointly powered the home team’s victory, scoring with double-digit markers.

Captain Sirima Manakit, who has been playing for the Nakhon Ratchasima franchise for the last 20 years, was undoubtedly happy for Sunday evening’s win.

“It’s important to start the tournament with a win especially that we are the home team. It was also important that we played around our game plan, like how we trained for this Championship. Our goal is to always play at our standard or even above our usual level. And this applies not only for every match, but for every ball or point that we have to play,” she said.

Early on, the hosts established their dominance in nearly all departments, even prolonging their service and scoring run at the start. They made a statement so strong that their opponents could hardly respond to.

Kwai Tsing relied on their main hitters captain Yu Ying Chi and Shum Lam to carry the load on offense. They utilized their capabilities in several plays, showing how well they could adjust in transition. While they were able to relish their winning plays, these were not as many to bring them to clear and stable advantage.

Meanwhile, the Thai club enjoyed the luxury of a boosted morale and a momentum continuously mounting toward success. They continued to play well even when the substitutes were called upon to perform, all the way to victory in straight sets.

Nakhon Ratchasima QminC will face Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh VC on Monday, September 23, at 16:00. After that, Kwai Tsing will play Vietnam’s Duc Giang Chemical Club in the match scheduled at 19:00. All times local.
