INDIANAPOLIS – Then NCAA’s release today of the 2021-22 Academic Progress Report (APR) once again reveals outstanding performance by the University of Utah’s athletics programs. Utes student-athletes performed among the best in the nation in both the single-year and multi-year Academic Progress Report (APR) released today for Division I schools.
The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation of all student-athletes on scholarship, and provides a measure of each team’s academic performance.
Four of the Utes’ sport programs—men’s skiing, women’s soccer, women’s swimming and diving and beach volleyball—earned perfect multi-year marks of 1000.
Twelve teams earned perfect 1000 single-year scores for the 2021-22 report: women’s basketball, cross-country, men’s golf, gymnastics, women’s skiing, men’s skiing, soccer, women’s swimming and diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, track & field and beach volleyball.
“It is tremendous to see the academic performance of our student-athletes, and the culture of excellence we have in place to support them in their pursuit of a University of Utah degree,” said Mark Harlan, Director of Athletics. “That remains our highest pursuit while continue to strive for excellence and achieve unprecedented success in competition and in the community.”
Among the sport-by-sport highlights for Utah Athletics in this year’s report:
- The Pac-12 champion football team posted a score of .988 in both the single-year and multi-year APR reports.
- The multi-year score ranks No. 1 among Pac-12 football programs and tops all Division I football programs in the state of Utah.
- Three other sports tied for best in the Pac-12 with their perfect scores of 1000: soccer, women’s swimming and diving and beach volleyball.
- Pac-12 regular season champion Women’s basketball achieved a perfect 1000 single-year score for the seventh time, and its .995 multi-year score ranks fourth in the Pac-12 and tops among all Division I programs in the state of Utah.
Since the inception of the program in 2003, 19 different teams have earned at least one perfect score in the single-year report, and 10 programs have earned a perfect score in the multi-year report (men’s basketball, cross country, men’s golf,…
