NCAA Final Four set to be a memorable occasion

Volleyball Nations League Is Here Again, and the Road to Finals Is Starting

It has been an enthralling season in the NCAA women’s volleyball championship and finally, it is all coming to a head.

Without doubt, the biggest story of the competition so far was defending champions Wisconsin crashing out in dramatic fashion to the Pittsburgh Panthers – leaving the Final Four far more open than anybody had anticipated.

With Wisconsin out of contention, there will be a new name on the trophy in 2022 and with plenty of volleyball to be played between now and the end of the season, there is so much on the line in the final four.

The Pittsburgh Panthers will take a huge amount of confidence from knocking out Wisconsin and their never say die attitude tends to give them the edge over most opponents they face.

Next up for Pitt is the Louisville Cardinals, a side that have plenty of key players and if they turn up in the Final Four, they will be very tough to stop.

In the other semi-final, two of the most exciting sides in NCAA women’s volleyball are set to do battle in an all-time classic.

The Texas Longhorns are in the midst of a period of sustained sporting success across a huge number of sports at the NCAA is the currency they are dealing in currently.

Coming into the Final Four as favorites will be a tag the Texas Longhorns will have to deal with but they too have plenty of key players, who should relish the occasion.

Next up in the last four for the Longhorns is San Diego Toreros, the relatively unknown quantity still in the hunt but if there is anything that has been learned from the NCAA women’s volleyball so far in 2022, it is that anybody can beat anybody in the competition.

Both matches in the final four of the NCAA Final Four should be absolute classics and picking an overall winner is no easy task.

The Texas Longhorns are an experienced outfit and they will believe that if they can continue their momentum coming into the semi-finals, that they could well be the team to beat.

At +150, they are the hot favorites to lift the NCAA title for the first time but there is plenty of volleyball still to be played.

One of the sides that has relished in sneaking under the radar is the Louisville Cardinals and their dream run has shown no sign of slowing in recent times.
