No. 19 Dawgs Block Out Beavers

Arizona

SEATTLE – Washington was the team building the dam today at Gill Coliseum as the 19th-ranked Huskies had a season-high 13 blocks to hold off Oregon State in four sets, 25-10, 23-25, 25-13, 25-23. The Huskies (17-7, 9-5 Pac-12) snapped a brief two-match losing streak and beat Oregon State (7-17, 2-12 Pac-12) for the ninth-straight time.

Washington hit .381, thoroughly dominating sets one and three, but Oregon State, which was held to a .137 mark, nearly forced a fifth set from a narrow second set win, and a 23-22 Beaver lead in set four. But the Huskies scored the final three points to shut the door.

Claire Hoffman had the final two kills from 23-all and finished with a match-high 18 kills on a .417 attack percentage. Hoffman had nine kills in set four to get the Dawgs to the finish line. Ella May Powell had 48 assists and 11 digs for her 61st career double-double. Shannon Crenshaw had 11 kills, hitting .296, and Marin Grote had 13 kills, hitting .522.
