LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Led by 19 kills from Claire Chaussee, the No. 2 University of Louisville volleyball team swept Clemson 25-22, 25-19, and 25-20 Friday night at the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.
Louisville extends its unbeaten streak in the ACC play to 32 straight matches and moves its record to 12-1 overall and 3-0 in ACC play. Elle Glock had a career-high 34 assists in her first start in the Cardinal uniform. Glock also recorded three digs and one block. Chaussee had 19 kills, hitting .531 with seven digs. Aiko Jones had ten kills, hitting .444, with one ace, two blocks, and four digs. Nena Mbonu recorded nine kills and one block. Amaya Tillman had six kills, two aces, and one dig. Libero Elena Scott notched a team-high 13 digs. The Cardinals hit .333 with three aces, five blocks, and 38 digs.
Clemson hit .179 as a team and had three aces and three blocks. Clemson moves to 9-6 on the season and 0-3 in ACC play.
The Cardinals continue ACC play on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. against No. 11 Georgia State in the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena. The match will be streamed on ESPN. This will be the third time the Cards have been televised on the flagship station.

In typical Cardinal fashion, UofL began the match with a block from Jones and Phekran Kong. The Cardinals and the Tigers continued to trade points until UofL jumped out to a two point lead led by four kills from Chaussee. A kill from Camryn Hannah gave the Tigers the 10-9 lead. A monster kill from Jones evened the score at 11-11. Back-to-back kills from Chaussee and Jones push the score to 13-11. A 4-0 scoring run for Clemson put the Tigers up 15-13 heading into the media timeout. Kills from Chaussee and Tillman tied the score at 17-17 and forced Clemson to use their first timeout. The Cardinals took the lead at 19-17 with a kill from Mbonu. Back-to-back kills from Hannah gave Clemson a 20-19 lead forcing Louisville to call a timeout. Mbonu’s two kills gave UofL the lead at 21-21. Great team defense from the Cards made Clemson call a timeout at 23-22. The Cardinals won the first set 25-22 with kills from Jones and Mbonu. UofL hit .531 led by Chaussee who had seven kills hitting .875.
