Olympic Beach Volleyball Rankings, updated 10/23

The Olympic race for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games officially began in February in Doha, Qatar, with the Volleyball World Elite16. The final event is yet to be determined, but the qualification period will conclude on June 9, 2024. We’ll be providing these updates for the Beach Volleyball Olympic rankings throughout the next two years.

The post-World Championships malaise did not hit the teams that needed it most during the Volleyball World Goa Challenge this past weekend. The two gold-medal-winning teams in the tournament in India — Anouk Verge-Depre and Joana Mader and Robin Seidl and Moritz Pristauz — were in dire need of a big finish.

And they got one, each claiming their best result of the season. It’s the first medal for Verge-Depre and Mader in 18 events, a huge boon to a Swiss Olympic race that is as tight as can possibly get.

On the American side, Tri Bourne and Chaim Schalk also had a much-needed finish, taking fifth, their best since a fifth in the Espinho Challenge in July. They have yet to medal in 2023, but given their recent string of events — losing in the first round of the Montreal and Paris Elite16 qualifiers and going 0-3 at World Championships — anything in the top 10 is a positive.
