ELMIRA, N.Y. – College Sports Communicators, formerly known as CoSIDA, announced its 2023 At-Large Academic All-District honors on Tuesday afternoon, with Oscar Munoz-Trinidad ’23 earning the honor after a successful year both in the classroom and on the court for the Men’s Volleyball program.
A two-time United Volleyball Conference (Honorable Mention, Second Team) and Empire 8 All-Conference First Team selection, Munoz Trinidad wrapped up his Soaring Eagle career as one of the most decorated players in program history. A native of Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic and a Human Services major, Munoz Trinidad earned EC Male Athlete of the Year in 2021-22 before notching the EC Male Outstanding Career Achievement award at the annual banquet last week. A multi-tool player for the Soaring Eagles, Munoz Trinidad ranked second on the team this season in kills (234), third in digs (99), third in blocks (21), and third in service aces (20).
The 2023 Academic All-District® At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes At-Large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early June. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
