ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Empire 8 Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon, with Oscar Munoz Trinidad ’23 earning Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week.
The Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic native was able to help the Soaring Eagles to a 1-1 record while stealing a set off the #3 nationally ranked Eagles from Juniata.
In all, Munoz Trinidad would play seven sets, racking up 23.0 points (3.14 K/S), and a hitting percentage of .375%.
In a 3-0 sweep against Drew on Saturday, he registered 13 kills and hit .571 for the Purple & Gold. He also added nine kills earlier in the day against Juniata. He ranks second on the team this season through 78 sets played with 224 kills and 257 total points for the Soaring Eagles.
This is the second Empire 8 Player of the Week accolade this season for Munoz Trinidad after he was honored in early February for his performance.
The Soaring Eagles travel to Poughkeepsie, New York on Friday to open the UVC Championships against MIT, which are slated for a 5:00 P.M. start.
