ParaVolley South Africa proudly announced the formation of its sitting volleyball national teams, showcasing the national federation’s commitment to development.
Notably, this announcement includes the introduction of the first-ever women’s national squad, marking a significant milestone in ParaVolley South Africa’s duty towards gender parity and broader participation and also highlighting the great work of its president and WPV Development Director Anton Raimondo.
The female squad, though currently compact, reflects a strong foundation upon which ParaVolley South Africa aims to build. As part of its expansion strategy, the organisation plans to nurture and develop the women’s team over the coming months, inviting more talented female athletes to join their ranks and bolster the representation of women in sitting volleyball.
The selection process for the national teams was rigorous, resulting in the appointment of 12 male and 7 female athletes to the respective squads, alongside 6 development players poised for growth and advancement in the sport.
