PERAK HOLDS ITS HISTORIC STATE-LEVEL DEVELOPMENT BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, December 10, 2024 – Perak, a state in Malaysia, recently organized its first-ever State-Level Development Beach Volleyball Tournament, marking an exciting milestone in the promotion of sports within the region. This inaugural event was aimed to foster the growth of beach volleyball by providing local athletes with a platform to showcase their skills and gain experience in competitive play.

The event, which took place on one of Perak’s historical town – Taiping, attracted teams among the state, ranging from beginners to more seasoned players. The tournament’s primary goal was to develop talent, particularly among younger athletes, by offering them the opportunity to engage in organized competition and receive coaching from experienced mentors.

President of Malaysia Volleyball Association and South East Asia Beach Volleyball Chairman Mr Hean Boon Yeow emphasized that this initiative would not only improve the skill levels of participants but also help to raise the profile of beach volleyball as a sport in Malaysia. The state education department, in collaboration with the district sports organizations, hopes to inspire greater community involvement in sports, particularly those that are lesser-known but have significant potential.

The tournament was hailed as a great success, with many participants and spectators alike praising the event for its organization, spirit of competition, and the chance it provided for athletes to interact with others from different regions.

The event also highlighted Perak’s beautiful coastal areas, potentially boosting tourism by combining sports with the natural appeal of the state.

This inaugural development tournament sets the foundation for future events, with plans to make it an annual affair and expand it to attract teams from other states, further promoting the sport across the nation. Perak’s first state-level beach volleyball tournament signifies an important step in the state’s commitment to developing sporting talent and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
