POL M: ZAKSA Claims Victory Over Jastrzębski Węgiel in Plusliga Round 30

In a thrilling encounter at the 30th and final round of the regular phase of the Plusliga, ZAKSA emerged victorious over Jastrzębski Węgiel with a score of 3-1. The semi-finalists of the Champions League put up a strong fight, but it was the hosts who came out on top and secured their fourth place finish in the main phase of the league.

Despite the loss, Jastrzębski Węgiel still finished in a commendable third place and will now move on to the play-offs to face Trefl Gdańsk. The match’s MVP was awarded to Erik Shoji.

The first set was closely contested, with Jastrzębski taking an early lead. However, Huber’s two remarkable serves at 21-23 helped ZAKSA to level the score. Despite their efforts, they were unable to convert the tie into a win, allowing the guests to take a 0-1 lead. In the next three sets, the hosts dominated the game, controlling the play for the most part and managing to secure a well-deserved 3-1 victory in the end.

Alexander Sliwka was the top scorer of the match with 18 points, while Bartoz Bednorz and Norbert Huber both scored 16 points each for ZAKSA. Jan Hadrava proved to be the most effective player for Jastrzębski Węgiel with 16 points.
