Poland defeated Türkiye 3-1 (30-28, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23) to put the seal on their undefeated 2022 Silver Nations League – Men title-winning campaign in Karadeniz Eregli on Sunday.
After finishing fourth in the 2021 edition, the Poles started with an impressive three straight-set wins against Italy, the Netherlands and Slovenia, respectively, and a four-set triumph over Latvia in the first two days of competition. The Poles achieved their highest finish in the competition with the sweep of the 2022 edition.
The home team also improved their Silver Nations League finish this year after placing third in 2021, while Latvia secured bronze.
Türkiye opened their campaign with three 3-0 wins over Slovenia, Italy and Latvia, and then dropped a set against the Netherlands before their 3-1 defeat to Poland.
Latvia earned their first win in five sets against the Netherlands, then cruised to a victory in straight sets against Slovenia and Italy. The Latvians succumbed to 3-0 and 3-1 losses to Türkiye and Poland, respectively.
