EUGENE, Ore. — A program-record six Ducks earned All-America accolades Wednesday, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Hannah Pukis collected first-team honors while Kara McGhee and Morgan Lewis were voted to the second and third teams, respectively. Mimi Colyer, Gabby Gonzales and Georgia Murphy also garnered honorable mention nods.
With Wednesday’s announcement, Lewis, McGhee and Pukis become the fourth UO trio to earn AVCA All-America (team) honors in the same season, and the third to do so under head coach Matt Ulmer. The 2018 team had five All-Americans, also with three team members along with two honorable mention picks.
Pukis, a second-team pick a season ago for the Ducks, is the fifth UO player to be named to the AVCA First Team and the second setter, joining Lauren Plum from 2012. Lewis and McGhee are the 15th and 16th player in program history to earn spots on one of the first three teams.
