Raina Terry to Participate in USAV National Team Open Program

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Illinois volleyball’s Raina Terry has been selected to attend USA Volleyball’s National Team Open Program this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The WNT Open Program is used for consideration for selection to both the U.S. Women’s National Team and the U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team.

More than 200 women’s volleyball players are expected to converge on the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs on Feb. 23-25 for the event. Athletes born in 2005 or younger may also be in consideration for selection to the U.S. U21 Women’s National Team that will compete in the 2024 U21 Women’s NORCECA Continental Championship from June 23 to July 1 in Toronto, Canada.

A two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Northeast All-Region selection and a two-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree, Terry sits 10th all-time with 1,634 career kills. The Marengo, Ohio, native is currently placed between AVCA All-America honorable mention Megan Cooney and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Michelle Bartsch-Hackley in the Illini history books. Terry is also fourth all-time with 164 career aces. In 2023, she was the only player in the Big Ten with over 1,500 kills and 150 aces and was the first Big Ten player to log over 500 kills for the season.

Terry announced on her Senior Day that she would be returning for her final year of eligibility in 2024.
