Saints Pickup Fourth Win in a Row! Corey Reaches a Milestone!

Forest City, IA – The Presentation College Saints pick up their fourth win in a row by beating Waldorf University 3-1 on Wednesday night in Forest City, IA. The win improves the Saints North Star standings to 5-4, with an overall record of 8-17. Sophomore Setter Olivia Corey from Watertown, SD reach the 1000 career assist milestone in the third set.

The Saints came out hot in the first set against the host Warriors and never looked back as they took set one 25 – 20. The Warriors did go several runs during the set but Presentation was able to hold them off for the five point set win. In the first set the Saints attack percentage was .206 and held the Warriors to just .103.

The Warriors returned the favor and came out motivated in set number two and took that set 25 – 16. Early on in set two there were three tie scores and one lead change. Once the host Warriors for the lead in set two they didn’t let it go. The Saint’s offense was off in set two with a hitting percentage of .000 while the Warriors attack was .167.

Going into the third set with it tied a match a piece the Saint’s Setter Corey reached her milestone 1000s assist as a sophomore. In the third set the host Warriors were only ever able to tie the score but never took the lead as the Saints won a close one 25-23. The Saints offense hit its best of the night in this set at .250 and so did the Warriors at .290.

The fourth set ended up being the last one of the night with the Saints holding the lead all the way thru for a 25 -20 win for the set and match. The Saint offense did slow a bit in the fourth set hitting just .167 and the Warriors dipped to .103.

By the Numbers…

The Saints were led in Kills by Grace Tobin (JR/Mason City, IA) with 21, with teammates Makaynna Snow (SO/Galt, CA) and Kerstin Knopik (SO/Little Falls, MN) each adding 10. Corey led with 27 assist on her way to the milestone. Sydney Miller (SR/Battle Ground, WA) added another 15 assists for the Saints. Laura Babcok (SR/Aberdeen, SD) led the Saints with 17 digs followed by Tobin with 13 for the two Saints in double digit digs. Corey added two service aces to her milestone night.

The Saints continue their road trip tonight in La Crosse, WI to take on the 8th ranked Viterbo University V-Hawks at 6:00 pm. The Saint return home next weekend to close out their home slate for the season with a Friday night 10/28 match versus 15th ranked…
