ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Empire 8 Conference released their annual all-conference awards for Women’s Volleyball on Wednesday morning, with Kaylene Sauschuck ’22 being named to the Second Team. As a leader in front of the net this season for the Soaring Eagles, Sauschuck has tallied 121 kills, .267 hitting percentage, and 43.0 total blocks this season, leading the team in each category.
A four-year member of the Purple & Gold, the Huguenot, New York native has amassed 400 kills and 140 total blocks while helping the Soaring Eagles to the Conference tournament in each of the past three seasons.
In addition to Sauschuck, Calli Vocke ’23 has been named to the Sportswoman of the Year Team. One member of each team was named that institution’s representative on the 2021 Women’s Volleyball Sportswoman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that “Competing with Honor and Integrity” is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
