Baton Rouge, LA. – The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (15-2) won their last match of the March to May Tournament against No. 10 Georgia State. The Seminoles improved to 16-2 following the win.

 

FSU 5, Texas A&M Corpus Christi 0

The Seminoles faced Texas A&M Corpus Christi for the first time this season and came away with the win without dropping a set.

Anna Long and Jordan Polo were efficient in giving the Noles their first dual point of the match. The pair won 21-8 in the first set and shut down the Islanders in the second set 21-10.

On court four Raelyn White and Caitlin Moon had similar success in their sets. The duo won 21-9 in the first set, but Moon and White did not let off the gas with a 21-10 win in the second set.

Alexis Durish and Makenna Wolfe continued their impressive dual history with their sixth consecutive win on court five since being paired together. Durish and Wolfe won the first set 21-14 and followed suit with a quick 21-9 victory in the second set.

Maddie Anderson and Paige Kalkhoff played hard on court one. The duo took the first set to extra points but battled and won 22-20. The second set Anderson and Kalkhoff found their groove and won 21-14.

On court three Audrey Koenig and Carra Sassack had a defensive first set, taking the win 21-15. The duo started the second set off well, but ended up going back and forth with the set having a total of 56 points played. Sassack and Koenig ended up winning 29-27 giving the Noles their fifth and final dual point for the sweep.

FSU 4, No. 13 Washington 1

The Seminoles faced No. 13 Washington for the second time this season. The two teams ended with the same result from earlier in the season with the Noles taking the 4-1 win.

Makenna Wolfe and Alexis Durish came into this weekend as the CCSA Pair of the Week and proved why they deserved that honor with stellar play this weekend. The pair refused to allow the Huskies to score more than six points on court five, with a 21-6 win in the first set and a 21-5 win in the second set.

Anna Long and Joran Polo fought hard on court two but dropped both sets 21-19 in the first and 21-17 in the second to give Washington their first and only dual point.

On court four Caitlin Moon and Raelyn White had two very close sets. The duo won the first set 21-19 and battled again in the second to get a 21-17 win, taking the dual point in favor of the Noles.
