SEMINOLES SWEEP DAY 3 OF MARCH TO MAY

Gulf Shores, Ala. – The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (15-2) won their last match of the March to May Tournament against No. 10 Georgia State. The Seminoles improved to 16-2 following the win.

 

FSU 5, No. 10 GSU 0

The Seminoles faced No. 10 Georgia State for the second time this season and won by the same 5-0 score.

Makenna Wolfe and Alexis Durish continued their undefeated weekend with another win on court five. The pair’s defense was outstanding in holding GSU to under 10 points in the first set in their 21-9 win. Their great defense carried over to the second set providing the pair with a 21-16 win in the second set.

Caitlin Moon and Raleyn White were consistent in winning both of their sets 21-15 and 21-17. The duo had an impressive weekend with their only loss against No. 3 UCLA.

Maddie Anderson and Paige Kalkhoff had an impressive showing against the Sandy Panthers, winning the first set 21-16. The duo caught fire in the second set and did not allow Georgia State to get over 10 points with a 21-9 win, giving the Noles their third dual point of the match.

Anna Long and Jordan Polo were also dominant in their match. The pair won a quick first set 21-11. They carried the momentum into the second set with a 21-17 win.

Court three was a hard-fought three-set battle with Carra Sassack and Morgan Chacon getting the win and the fifth and final dual point for the Noles. Sassack and Chacon dropped the first set in extra points 22-20. The duo fought back in the second set and took it to extra points as well recording a narrow 24-22 victory. The third set was back and forth before the duo closed out strong winning 15-10.

The Seminoles will be on the road again March 25-26 at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge.
