Shorthanded Volleyball Beaten at Hopkins

Playing without two of its starts, the Muhlenberg volleyball team was swept at Johns Hopkins.

The ninth-ranked Blue Jays (14-3, 3-0), who won the 2021 Division III national championship, won the three sets 25-16, 25-14, 25-18.

The Mules (10-7, 0-3) were within two points midway through the first set (14-12) and second set (12-10), but Hopkins finished on runs in both. In the third set, Muhlenberg made a late run, cutting a 19-10 deficit to 20-17, but could not catch up.

Senior Alyssa Faville recorded 16 digs, 4 assists and 3 aces for the Mules. Junior Esmae Oehler led the attack with 7 kills.
