Shroll Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Graduate libero Mary Shroll is the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after leading No. 14 Sun Devil Volleyball over the weekend, the first Big 12 weekly award for the program.

For Shroll, this is her second conference weekly award in her career after earning a Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week nod last season. For the complete list of winners, head to the Big 12’s release.

Shroll had a strong weekend, leading all players in digs in all three matches as Arizona State went 2-1 to improve to 8-1. Against No. 5 Nebraska, she had a game-high 16 digs. She has had double-digit digs in 11-straight matches dating back to last season, one away from a career-long streak.

Arizona State has its home opener this week as they host the Webb-Burbridge Classic from September 19-21 in Desert Financial Arena.
