CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Volleyball Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr announced the addition of Indigo Young and Kate Hansen to the 2024 roster on Tuesday. Young joins the Tigers as a graduate transfer after spending the previous four seasons at Charleston Southern, while Hansen just completed her freshman campaign at Texas Tech, and will be a sophomore in the fall of 2024. Both are set to join the program at the beginning of the spring semester.
Simpson Kirr stated, “The combination of Indigo and Kate will provide great depth in our middle position and continue to elevate our front line.”

- Led the Big South in hitting percentage in 2022 (.371) and 2023 (.386)
- Clocked 205 total blocks (43 solo, 162 assisted) averaging 0.61 per set
- Had 819 points on her career, including 309 during her junior campaign
- Was a two-time Big South Player of the Week
- Named to the Big South All-Freshman Team in 2020 and Big South All-Conference Second Team in 2022
- CSU Volleyball Team Captain in 2023
- Had a career-high 20 kills vs. USC Upstate on Sept. 29, 2023
- Clocked a career-high .682 hitting percentage vs. N.C. A&T going 16-for-20 with only one error on Sept. 1, 2023
- 2023 All-Academic Team
- Before Charleston Southern, she graduated from Harrison High School where she was named to the GHSA 6A All-State team
- VCA Under Armor All-American Watch List, Named All-Region player, the HHS Offensive Player of the Year and team captain in 2018 and 2019
- Was a state champion in 2016 and 2017 at Harrison and finished her career with 622 kills, 278 blocks and a .410 hitting percentage
“Indigo is a super dynamic middle who is quick and hard for opponents to defend,” said Simpson Kirr. “She runs a lot of different routes which fits our offensive system well. Her experience as a leader on and off the court will continue to help our program move forward.”
