Soaring Eagles Fall on Senior Day to Close Out Season


ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles ended their season with a 3-1 loss at home to the Utica Pioneers on Senior Day.

TEAM RECORDS: Elmira (3-22, 1-10 Empire 8), Utica University (7-14, 3-8 Empire 8)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Soaring Eagles dropped the tightly contested, back-and-forth first set 26-24. EC came up short again in the second set 25-17. With their backs against the wall, the Purple and Gold rallied to win the third set, 25-20 before ultimately falling in the fourth set, 25-18.

Makenna Clark ’25 led the Soaring Eagles with 14 kills in the match. Madi Conti ’28 and Morgan Richardson ’25 each registered double-digit kills with 13 and 12 respectively.

Asia Curkendall ’25 racked up 38 assists in her final game, cementing her place as 9th all-time in program history with a total of 1,814.

Clark and Richardson also tied for the team lead in points with 17 each.
