ELMIRA, NY – To begin their home schedule, the Elmira College Soaring Eagles hosted both Buffalo State and King’s College on Saturday for their first home tri match of the season. The Purple & Gold swept both games and went 6-0 in sets, moving to 4-0 on the season.

For the second weekend in a ow, Jordan Peiser ’24 had a monster day, registering 15 kills and finishing with a hitting percentage of .458.
Max Cohen ’25 played the role of set-up man again, picking up 32 assists. The next closest player in the match had 11.
Luke Jata ’27, Gabriel Staron ’27, and Peiser each capped off the set with three service aces.
Peiser (19.0), Jata (12.0), and Staron (10.0) were all responsible for double-digit point efforts in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED (MATCH TWO)
Jata’s 13 kills led the Soaring Eagles in their second win of the day. This win, a full-team effort, saw Cohen serve up another 24 assists, bringing his total for the day to 56 across six sets.
Paten Buckwalter ’28 and Dyland Vargas ’27 (7 each), Peiser and Ethan Davenport ’28 (5 each), Staron (3), and Caden Sims ’28 (1) all found ways to contribute to the team’s 41 kills in addition to Jata’s 13.
