Stafford Earns Back-to-Back ACC Freshman of the Week Honors

PITTSBURGH – For the second straight week, Torrey Stafford has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. With two ACC honors a piece, Stafford and Babcock are the only freshmen in the conference to receive the award thus far. 

Stafford has continued to impress and be a mainstay on the outside for the Panthers. She averaged 5.17 kills per set, 5.42 points per set and 1.67 digs per set against Duke and North Carolina. She put away 15 balls in three sets against Duke on Friday night, hitting at a .333 clip, adding six digs and a block. She followed that up with a 16 kill performance against North Carolina, hitting .278 and recorded four digs and two blocks. Stafford’s 133 kills is second on the team, one kill behind Babcock with 134.
