Athanasios Papageorgiou has been a long-term successful ParaVolley coach, with a focus on standing volleyball and more recently, standing beach paravolley teams over many years. His successes with the German men’s team is legendary and includes a string of world titles. Atha is also an Honourary Life Member of World ParaVolley.
In “A point of view”, he touches on some FIVB history that has parallels with World ParaVolley and shares his views about the way forwards to having standing beach paravolley included in the Paralympic Games programme. This paper provides food for thought.
