Stanford Hands Louisville First Loss

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 5 Stanford hit .426 in the final three sets to come-from-behind to defeat No. 2 Louisville, 22-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-20, 15-12, Sunday, at the KFC Yum! Center.

Stanford (7-2) handed Louisville (9-1) its first loss of the season, hitting .329 for the match. Playing in its first five-set match of the season, the Cardinal recorded a season-high 70 digs to go with 10.0 blocks and two aces.

Outside hitter Caitie Baird had a match and season-high 23 kills, seven digs and a block. Opposite Kendall Kipp totaled 18 kills, eight digs and four blocks, while outside hitter Elia Rubin finished with 16 kills on .481 hitting, 14 digs, four assists, a block and an ace.

 



Setter Kami Miner dished out a season-high 58 assists to go with four kills, nine digs and three blocks. Senior libero Elena Oglivie racked up a match and season-high 23 digs and had five assists and an ace.
