There’s a post on the JVA blog which talks about stats that most closely related to team performance. The three stats outlined are:
- Attack Efficiency
- Serving Efficiency
- Sideout Efficiency
Attack Efficiency is defined as normal: (Kills-Errors)/Total Attempts. The other two don’t have specific definitions. They are, instead, discussed from a couple of different angles.
I think it’s definitely worth giving the post a read, as it has some good things to think about and ideas for training. The one comment I’d make is that talking about things most closely tied to performance (which I’ve posted about) quick runs into the issue of overlap. If you attack well, you probably have a good sideout efficiency, for example.
